Earthy, sculptural, and quietly striking — this woven hemp belly basket brings a grounded warmth to any room, filling empty corners with texture, character, and a sense of unhurried calm.
✦ Design & Shape
The belly silhouette is the defining feature here: a tapered base rises into a broad, generous mid-section before drawing back to an open top — a form that is as visually satisfying as it is functional. Two integrated cut-out loop handles make it easy to carry from room to room, keeping the profile clean and uncluttered. The overall construction is firm enough to hold its shape while remaining light in the hand.
✦ Two Looks, One Basket
Styles 1 and 2 feature a bold black accent band that divides the natural-tone upper section from the woven lower body — a graphic contrast detail that gives these pieces a distinctly Nordic edge, equally at home in a Scandi living room or a modern boho apartment. Style 3 skips the contrast band entirely, presenting the basket in an all-natural tone — softer, more understated, and versatile enough to blend into farmhouse, Japandi, or cottagecore interiors without competing for attention.

✦ Where to Use It
The belly shape and generous proportions make this basket a natural fit for living rooms — stationed beside the sofa for throws and blankets, or used as a floor planter for trailing greenery like pothos, ivy, or string of pearls. In a nursery or child's room, it becomes a tidy home for soft toys and folded muslins. An entryway corner is transformed with a few dried botanicals or pinecones tucked inside. For those who prefer function over display, it handles light laundry duty with ease. Whatever the role, the hemp construction and belly profile make it a piece worth noticing.
A thoughtful housewarming gift for anyone who loves natural materials, woven textures, and a home that feels lived-in and carefully considered.
✦ Material
Hemp rope — a natural fibre valued for its durability, tensile strength, and warm earthy tone. Hemp weaves develop a pleasing patina over time and pair beautifully with rattan, linen, terracotta, and raw wood in layered interior schemes.
